Youth Nationals Top 8 Finishers – 2010 – 2017
The first thing to remember is that the ADO Memorial Scholarship Fund (MSF) is an independent body. IT IS NOT A PART OF THE AMERICAN DARTS ORGANIZATION, AND IS NOT ADMINISTERED BY THE AMERICAN DARTS ORGANIZATION OR THE ADO BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
These awards are for scholarship use ONLY. They are not simple cash awards, and individuals must meet certain requirements in order to apply for scholarship funds, as detailed here.
A student must be accepted, on a full-time basis (minimum 12 credits per quarter/semester) to an accredited American college curriculum on or before his/her 21st birthday, and must enter that program no later than the next active quarter. The student must select a program or major that leads to the earning of a degree ie Associate in Applied Science, Bachelor of Science etc, and must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0.
Certificate or Diploma programs are acceptable only if required to obtain minimal educational requirements necessary to enter a degreed program.
To reiterate, ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ACCEPTED INTO A PROGRAM BEFORE THE AGE OF 21.
Administration of the ADO Memorial Scholarship Fund (MSF) is handled by a Board of Trustees. A maximum of $500 per quarter/semester (not to exceed $1000 per year) will be paid directly to the recipient on a quarterly/semester basis after confirmation of paid enrollment and proof that the minimum GPA requirement has been maintained.
Any legitimate college fees are eligible for coverage by this fund.
Again, the MSF is not administered by the ADO or the ADO Board of Directors, with everything being handled by the MSF Board of Trustees ONLY. The ADO Board of Directors does not have access to the fund. The MSF Board of Trustees consists of THREE individuals, only one of which can be a member of the ADO Board of Directors. That individual currently is ADO Area 1 Manager Steve Moore.
Here is a list of all awards issued by the MSF since 2014.
10/16/14 – Scott Frazier Jr – $1000 ($250 balance)
2/2/16 – Cassidy Larkin – $500 ($0 balance)
9/19/16 – Shannon Gallagher – $250 ($0 balance)
10/20/16 – Connor Schlebach – $500 ($1000 balance)
11/14/17 – Austin Adams – $500 ($1500 balance)
3/5/18 – Austin Adams – $500 ($1000 balance)
There have been some issues in the past, resulting in the MSF’s tax status being revoked, and Steve Moore is currently trying to resolve the situation. However, this has had no detrimental effect on the funds available, and the current balance of the MSF is $54,170.62. Please see the attached statement here.
